MCEA and the Board of Education concluded negotiations this past spring on a new three year contract. The tentative agreement was ratified overwhelmingly in February by a vote of MCEA members. Once the contract was ratified by members, funding had to be secured in the County’s 07-08 budget. After intense lobbying by MCEA leadership and widespread member involvement, this was assured on June 6th. The new contract became effective July 1, 2007 and runs through June 30, 2010.
